Child Suffering From Vomiting And Loose Motion. What To Do?

Dear Sir,
Our 8 months baby is suffering from vomiting & Loose motion for 5 days
1. Vomiting: within 1 minute after eating solid & semi solid food ( Mother Milk is not being vomited)
Vomit smells lightly.
Diet we are giving:
8AM & 3PM: Bufellow Milk + Biscuts 2,
11AM & 7.30 PM: Remisolid Food (Powder of Rice+ Pesarlu+Ragulu+Moong Daal)

2. Loose Motion : Watery , Some times Light Greenish Colour, without smell

we are giving water, ORS liquid by spoons. and Normetrogyl + Sporlac - 2times a day (we started to day morning)

Please help us in controlling the vomiting and loose motions.

Thank you for your query.
Do not panic.
Give him/her a probiotic syrup for seven days.
Avoid milk.fruits/juices and wheat products for 5-7 days.
Please stop normetrogyl...no role of antibiotics in diarrhoea.
Give ondansetron for vomiting...
Give plenty of fluids and rice based diet.

Hi Venugopal garu,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Your baby does not require that antibiotics. Please stop. Antibiotics are useful only when there is blood and pus in the stool along with fever. In such a scenario we call it dysentry.

Vomiting should be treated with antiemetics prescribed by your doctor.

Please prevent dehydration by giving ORS or any other fluid that contains salt and sugar.
