Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Macox plus is used in the treatment of tuberculosis. It is a combination of two medications isoniazid and rifampicin.
If her doctor has prescribed this then he or she believes that her coughing may be related to tuberculosis and it would be important to continue the course of treatment as prescribed.
If you have any questions about the diagnosis or treatment then it would be best to speak to your doctor about your concerns.

In terms of asthma- this would normally present with a dry cough which may be worse at night, shortness of breath, chest pain or tightness and wheezing.
The symptoms can be brought on or made worse by : an infection of the respiratory tract like the common cold, exercise, cold environment, emotions, allergies and reflux can also worsen asthma symptoms.

Asthma is a serious condition- treatment involves avoiding the triggers and the use of inhalors . Inhalors are classified as reliever inhalors ( to be used when the symptoms occur) and preventer inhalors ( to be used to prevent asthma symptoms).

If you suspect she is an asthmatic and this is confirmed by her doctor, she should be on inhalors.

I hope this helps

Hello dear,

Asthma is caused due to broncho-constriction (obstruction of smaller airway passages) which is indicative of Hyper-responsiveness of air passages.

Management consists of:

1. Nebulisation & inhalers- provide symptomatic relief
2. Montelukast preparations- used as a maintenance therapy
3. Antihistamines.
4. Protection from exposure to cold, dust or other allergens.

The medicine Macox plus is an anti Tubercular medication, to be administered in case of Tuberculosis.
And if your doctor has prescribed this medication, suspecting a Tubercular infection as a cause of the symptoms in your child, then the complete course of the medicine needs to be taken without any gap in the treatment schedule.

So, kindly consult the treating Doctor & discuss regarding this matter.
Investigation like sputum microscopy & X ray of the chest will be needed for confirmation of the diagnosis & assess the progression.

There is no need to worry, your daughter will be fine.
Please make sure that she receives the complete course of the medications.

Wishing her a good health.
Take care.
