Child With Recurrent Loose Stools. Bacteria In Stools Test. Suggested Ofloxacin. No Relief. Recommendations?
hi sir my baby of 1yr having motions since 1week we did stool test in that we found bacteria double plus ,pus cells upto 6-8/hpc n fat globules double plus so pediatrician suggested ofloxacin 50 mg n zn d powder we used for 6 days yesterday we stopped but again startes loose stool n in the stool test again same findings we found so what does it mean ? what medication we should use
I advise you to give stool sample for culture and sensitivity and reducing substances to know the causative bacteria and its sensitivity to particular antibiotic.
Reducing substances in stool or suggestive of development of secondary lactose intolerance due to which loose motions will continue in spite of treatment because of giving lactose containing products like milk.
Probiotic and ORS to be added his treatment to restore healthy gut flora and to maintain the hydration of the child.
