Child With Severe Nose Bleeds Due To Injury. Worried
Hi there! My son is 6 years old and was hit in the nose earlier today (by his younger sister). Immediately his nose Began to bleed...a lot. I grabbed tissue and began to pinch the bridge of his nose. After while, the bleeding stopped. About an hour and a half later we were at the park. He was riding his bicycle and fell. He did nothit his nose this time. He began crying hysterically. His nose once again, began to bleed. We were able to get it to stop again, this time a bit sooner. My question, did his nose begin bleeding again because he was crying? Isthiscommon? We've never experienced 2 nose bleeds in one day. He has only had 1 nose bleed before this, and that was during the winter while he was on antibiotics and sleeping. Tammy

Child With Severe Nose Bleeds Due To Injury. Worried
Hi Tammy, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. The nose bleed in your child is due to injury. The second bleed from the nose is due to crying which will lead to pressure on nose causing dislodgement of clot and causing bleeding. If there is bleeding pinch the nasal bridge till the bleeding stops. Physical examination is important to know the source of bleeding in the nose and to rule out nasal bone fracture. Consult the ENT specialist for examination and for management. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
