Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

The description that you provide suggests that your son has injured his lower lip which is giving rise to the swelling. I suggest that you apply chap stick or bland ointment/oil over the lips and observe for the next 24 hours or so. In case the swelling increases it shall be advisable to consult your doctor.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son/daughter an early recovery.

Regards,

RKK

Pediatrician Dr. Synthyia Bhagat's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Physical examination of lip is needed.
It could be due to injury or some infection.
I suggest you to get him examined by pediatrician.
In the meantime apply cold compresses over lip and give acetaminophen for pain relief.
Apply glycerine over lips and give him plenty of fluids.

Wishing your child good health.
God bless.
