Child's Ear Bleeding After Inserting Qtip. The Cotton Part Was Missing. Ear Drum Punctured Or Ruptured?

Yes my four year old nephew started screaming on the top of his longs we ran into the room he was on the ground screaming which lasted another minute or so before he finally calmed down to the point where I was able to think clearly. We examined his ear and it was bleeding a couple minutes after the incident and then looked at the qutip which was missing the soft cotton on the tip so he had basically shoved the end in the ear with no cotton to protect his insides should we immediatly take him to the hospital incase the drum is punctured or ruptured?

Thanks for using health care magic. I read your query and I believe there is certainly trauma to external ear canal. and may be trauma to ear drum too. I will suggest you to consult he E.N.T surgeon at the earliest . Nothing to get panicky. if the cotton is there in side he will examine and take it out. but you dont try to take it out as this will traumatise the ear more. keep the ear dry .
