Hi there, My daughter has had a ruptured ear drum for 3 years now. She had a complete ear drum replacement surgery done 2 years ago but the ear drum re-perforated. She now swims with ear plugs. Yesterday she got water in her ear and today I notice discharge so the doctor instructed us to use antibiotic ear drops for the infection. I m wondering if getting water in the ear and ear infections will cause her to lose more hearing? What is the result of ear infections? Should we stop swimming?
