Chronic Constipation, Low Sodium Count, Normal CT Scan Of Abdomen, No Improvement With Cremaffin Plus. Treatment Suggestion?
My dad (76) is suffering from sudden chronic constipation for the last one month. Cremalax 2 tabs worked well. Later dulcolax suppository was prescribed and it worked well. CT scan of abdomen came out clean with no abnormalities but he was reported to have low sodium 116... and is again constipated for last 5 days. Cremaffin plus has not worked for the last 3 days.....He does not have appetitie ......Any solutions please.... He was also suffering from nausea and abdominal gas but now the nausea has reduced.

Hi, Thanks for query.
Chronic constipation at this age common due to sluggish reflex and taking less food.
Give him Liq. Cremaffin 1 table spoonful at night daily.
If require you use Dulcolax suppository.
Give him plenty of water.
Give him more fiber containing diet.
Give him banana,oranges,papita fruits.
Ok and bye.
