Chron's Disease, Arthritis. Red, Itchy Flaky Rash To Mons Pubis. Taken Cortisone Cream, Medication. Relief?
Age 41 Ht. 5 4 Wt 165. Hx: Chrohn s disease, Arthritis . Itchy red sometimes flaky rash to Mons pubis . Cortisone cream seems to help at times but never completely cures rash. Rash flares worse at times & haven t been able to determine what triggers the flares. Wear white cotton underwear & loose clothing. Tried hypoallergenic soaps, laundry detergent, etc with no relief noted. My GI, Rheumatologist & GYN have assessed& have no idea what is. I have an appt with dermatologist next month but this is driving me crazy... Had a bout with this about 3 years ago & treated it with OTC creams & it went away rather quickly this time it has been ongoing for about 6 months so i finally agreed to see the Dermo Dr.. I need some relief...

Hello, Thanks for the query, You might have developed fungal infection. The area of groin around labia is very moist and is prone to develop these infections. Treatment can be with oral antifungals as well as with topical antifungals. Various antifungal powders like candid are available. These can help reduce the moisture as well as control the infection. Please dont use any steroid, it can worsen your condition Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
