Cleaned Ears, Later Found Dry And Fresh Blood, No Pain. Recommendations?
I was cleaning my 2 year olds ears as he was brushing his teeth and he quickly jerked. He cried really hard for a moment and was fine. The next day (today I noticed some dried blood in his ear, so I waited until he was asleep and stuck a qtip in the ear (not very far) and noticed that it had some dried blood and also some fresh blood. What do you think I should do? He didn't complain about it or anything and played normal all day today.
First of all let me tell you never try to clean the ear yourself. Trying to clean the ear canal using ear buds would just push the normal secretion of wax further in. There is high chance of injuring the walls of the canal as well as the tympanic membrane(ear drum)
In the present situation I'd strongly advice you to take your child to an ENT specialist and get his ears examined.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. In my opinion you child got injured while cleaning and his ear should be examined by an ENT. There might not be any symptoms but you must be sure that the injury was not deep and then it will be fine. Thank you.
