Cold And Fever With Lots Of Fluid In The Ears And Pain. Can Some Ear Drops Reduce The Pain ?
HI, my daughter is 19 and works at a daycare and has had a "cold" for about a week. She went to the dr on monday and he said she has a bad cold but gave her a Z pac, told her there was no ear infection but lots of fluid in the ear and call if it gets worse. Its getting worse, 101 fever, and alot of ear pain(clogged and muffled) Should she use some type of ear drops to alleviate the pain? Shes been taking Zpac, tylenol and a cold+sinus pill(i think she has viral pneumonia)
Hi, From history it seems that along with cold she is having acute infection in earas well. Continue with Z-pac. for 3-5 days. After infection subsides with antibiotic Z-pac she will feel better. Continue with other analgesic and decongestant medicines. She can put analgesic, antibiotic ear drops. Ok and take care.
