Hello Good Evening, This might be a viral infection followed by bacterial pharyngitis. As you suffered initially as common cold which commonly caused by viruses, and generally subsides by itself after some days, but you also got super-infection by some bacteria, which caused acute pharyngitis in your throat. So you have to go for a antibiotics course and supportive treatment, but after clinical examination by your GP. Your treatment should be: -Tab. Amoxycillin+clavunic acid/Azithromycin. -Nasal decongestant -Cough syrup/mucolytics -Steam Inhalation -Hot water gargles -NSAIDS for symptomatic relief. Regards, Dr. Naresh Jain.
