Cold On Top Of Pneumonia After Finishing Antibiotic And Steroid Treatment

I've had pneumonia for 3 weeks now. I've finished a 10 day antibiotic treatment and a steroid treatment. However I got a cold on top of the pneumonia and now I'm feeling worse. The doctor said just to buy over the counter cold meds since I have finished the antibiotics. However the chest pain, rib pain and coughing is getter worse. Should I go to the ER ?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe, that you have an allergic bronchitis, eosinophelia,
or viral infection.
Your infection is continuing, it is not cured.
I advise you to consult a chest physician for diagnosis and treatment. you may need to have a chest X ray, and other tests, for diagnosis.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms another course of antibiotic like cifixime, citrizine, phenylphrine, and di ethyl carbamazine citrate.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
