Colonoscopy Biopsy Done. What Are The Findings In The Report?
my colonoscopy biopsy results state "colonic mucosa with architectural distortion, moderate chronic active inflammation, cryptitis and regenerative changes. Differential diagnosis includes inflammatory bowel disease (favored) and acute self limited colitis. Clinical correlation is advised." My gastro won't diagnose me with anything, completed two additional biopsy's in the office yesterday for proctitis. I am frustrated. Do I have ulcerative colitis? What questions do I need to ask?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really understand your concern, the findings are suggestive of having inflammatory changes in colon and that needs to be compare with the clinical condition of yours in other words it need to be compare with your chief complain, you can ask the doctor about the provisional diagnosis as well as final diagnosis and then discus the line of treatment, and finally you can ask for the prognosis, I hope this will guide and you may help you have great day.
