Complex Kidney Cyst, Elevated Potassium Phosphate Count. Suggest Test Which Will Rule Out Kidney Disease?

I am 66 years old and have recently been told that I have a complex kidney cyst 1.1cm after undergoing an abdominal ultra sound. That was done because I have an elevated potassium phosphates count with all other liver function test being normal. I have been advised to have the ultra sound repeated in three months. However I want to know if there are other test that rule out kidney disease like cancer that can be done sooner?
