Concussion, Laceration On Right Side Of Head, Mild Nosebleed. Is It Serious?

My 19 year old daughter was in a car accident on Wednesday and was dx with a concussion and had a laceration to the right side of her head. Today, Saturday she had a nosebleed that lasted maybe for a minute or two and then stopped. She is away at college. I told her to go to the health center on campus and see a doctor. I am wondering if she shouldn't go to an ER and have an MRI done or a more thorough evaluation?
Thank you. Susan

Hello Susan,
Welcome at HCM.

I have read complete details of your question.

It looks that your daughter had injury to her head with laceration. The present nose bleed should be taken seriously. At present shes needs to consult to a neurosurgeon & should have CT of head. This will be able to detect the presence of blood in head or any other type of injury.

Please take care that is she developing weakness or abnormal sensations in her limbs.

She may need rest & avoid any type of exertion.

Hope this all will help her.

With best wishes.
