Congestion, Pain In The Throat. Over The Counter Drugs?

I had a cold 2 weeks ago and the cold went away, except that I still have a little congestion. 5 days ago a strange pain in my throat started and it hasn t gone away. I thought about chest cold but is only in my throat. I have a small baby and don;t want him to get sick. Can I take something for the pain over the counter or should I go see a doctor??

Hi,
Thanks for query,
Your upper respiratory infection has spread to lower respiratory tact gives you chest congestion.
You should needs antibiotics to control it.
The possibility of Pneumonic infection should be ruled out.
As Respiratory infection rapidly spread through air for sake of your baby you should consult your doctor to control it.
Thanks.
