hi, soar throat had been a consistent problem with me. i suffered for almost a year in 2010. took all antibiotics and got treatment from almost every famous hospital in delhi but all in waste. then one of my friend who himself is a doctor advised me to stay away from cold stuff i.e. cold water etc. which i did with tabs like zerodol n aizee for few days. i was finally fine with no infections. i stiil have sporadic issues with throat. symtoms are red throat, heavy feeling around tonsils with no cough or mucus . plse advise is it because of alergy. what care should i take.
Your symptoms show you often suffer from acute pharyngitis which is bacterial infection leading to inflammation of mucous membrane lining the throat.
As you have been a victim of this infection many times,i suspect you may have allergy to certain products so i suggest you to avoid chilled water, carbonated drinks, alcohol ,smoking, tobacco chewing, hot and spicy foods and condiments.
You can start with a habit of drinking distilled or boiled water to prevent infection as it is mostly water borne. Regular gargling of mouth with lukewarm saline water or antiseptic mouthwashes like chlorhexidine gives soothing effect to the throat and prevents infection.
i hope this helps you, take care.
