Hello and welcome to HCM,
Thank you for your query.
A few of the most common causes of bleeding stools in pregnant women:
1. Hemorrhoids are common in pregnant women, most commonly arising due to pressure that the expanding
uterus puts on the intestines. But more commonly due to the
constipation that pregnant women experience (especially in your case) that causes friction in the rectal area, resulting in hemorrhoids. Note: bright red blood
2. Rectal tear: Constipation in pregnant women and the extra strain during a bowel movement can lead to a fissure (tear) in the rectal area. Note: Bright red blood
3. Gastrointestinal tract (GIT) bleed: There could be other diet and lifestyle related causes leading to a bleed from the GIT. An upper GIT bleed will be seen as dark brown-black colored stool, whereas a lower GIT bleed will be seen as fresh blood in the stools.
Please co-relate with the information I have provided and discuss the possibilities with a doctor.
Do not worry as these are common problems faced by pregnant women and almost always disappear after delivery.
