Constipation And Gastritis After Surgery In Small Intestine. What Is The Difference Between P Antacid And P Antacid IT?
Dear Dr I met surgery in my small intestine in 2007 . From then onward I am suffering from constipation and severe gastritis problem . recently Dr has suggested me to take 1. P antacid IT daily in empty stomach for three weeks. Sir what is the difference between P antacid plain and P antacid IT ? 2 Lacto fibre 3 Duphalac Sir will you pl suggest what should I do Thanking you Kaberi
Look P antacid plain cantains antacid only and P antacid IT contains itopride in addition to antacid. This itopride is a prokinetic agent which increases the tone of gastro-esophageal junction and prevent gastro-esophageal reflux disorders (GERD).
You need to describe your small intestine in more details so that i can give you proper explanation. Gastritis may be stress related. You should avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking if any. Take plenty of water per day atleast 3- 4 litre per day.

Take plenty of water per day atleast 3- 4 litre per day. Usually after small bowel resection diarrhoea insted of constipation is seen due to bacterial overgrowth syndrome. Please give the details of your operation for further advice from my side. God bless you. Regards Dr Arnab Maji
