Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have symptoms of constipation with sharp cross pains below the belly button area and a tight band below the rib cage. This has been increasing worse over this last 6 months. Also, with the sharp pain area has been a near passing out feeling when sitting as in driving. All physical examinations seem perfect, though these were routine examinations. Age 66, 170lbs, and no medical history of problems
I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.
Your symptoms are caused by colopathy that is manifested with digestive and bowel transit. In these cases, to my patients I recommend to follow these guidelines. 1. Eat a lot of grain, fruits and vegetables. 2. Eliminate spicy foods, carbohydrates, alcoholic and carbonated drinks from your diet. 3. Quit smoking(if you do smoke).
However a fibrorectosigmoidoscopy is necessary for the diagnosis.
All the best. Dr. Behar.
