Hi, My brother is suffering from high fever from past 4-5days (103-104F). He generally got high temperature in the evening with severe headache , chilling and mild high blood pressure as well. In morning fever comes down to 100-101F but headache stay there through out the day. Doc say it may be Malaria . We got the Malaria test done after 3days but it was negative. Pls advice the way forward, anyways we have started CQ for malaria, 1day course completed but no good improvement sign. Pls guide
Hello Sumati and thanks for the query
In addition to anti-malarial drugs, you surely needs a course of antibiotics to reduce the fever. you can take paracetamol for the time being to reduce fever, headache etc.
You must go for Complete blood count and widal test to rule out Dengue and Typhoid. As these are more common in this season. Consult your doctor and than go for the investigations.
The choice of antibiotic depends on the symptoms and blood examination report. So consult your doctor again and go for effective course of antibiotic.
Best Wishes
