Continuously Recurring Viral Fever When Paracetamol Is Stopped. History Of Igm Nephropathy With Protein Leak. Any Adverse Effect?

My doctor(Physician) was administered Dolo-650(Paracetamol) three times for 5days for curing viral fever. After 2& half days I stopped taking next dose(8th dose) as I have relief from body pain & tempreature. As tempreature started again consumed the 9 th dose(skipped 8th one).Since the 4th day(18-5-13) I felt OK ,stopped the medicine .But today evening again felt tempreature and hence consumed 11th dose and will continue next 4doses.
please note that I have igm nephropathy with protean leak of 750mg/day and creatine at normal level for last 2year.hence no other medicine was administered.further blood routine & urine routine tested found normal except esr 11mm,BP 150/90. Is there is any adverse effect in taking this much of dose. As I skipped some doses is there is any problem.please advice

Hi

Thanks for asking.

Paracetamol is mainly used for the fever and constitutional symptoms in case of viral infection/ bacterial infections.

A dose of 1.5 to 2 grams a day for 4-5 days is not likely to produce any side effects, even in a patient of IgA nephropathy.

I am more concerned about the fever it self as it is the fifth day of the fever and you are having increased temperature when you stopped the paracetamol.

Please consult a doctor to get some basic investigations done to rule out some other pathology.

Thanks.
