Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
It is good that you have taken the initiative to seek help.
Corex is a syrup which has
Codeine as the main ingredient. Codeine is an
opioid drug (belonging to the same category as
Heroin).
There are several forms of help available to deal with your addiction problem. However, your motivation and efforts are important to achieve success. There are
counselling techniques like Motivational Enhancement Therapy which can help improve your motivation and quit. There are also relapse prevention strategies which you can be taught to prevent going back to these substances. Medication may also be required to treat the
withdrawal symptoms, medical complications as well as reuce craving.
Now, treatment for your opioid addiction will be in two phases. The first phase is called "de-toxification". In this phase, the aim is to prevent withdrawal symptoms and treat any adverse health consequences and complications due to the substance. The second phase is called "de-addiction". The main goal of this treatment is to prevent you from relapsing i.e. going back to your habit. So, please
consult a psychiatrist in your place for a detailed evaluation and further treatment.
Wish you all the best.
