General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
thank you for your query,

The persistence of cough since 10 weeks indicate towards a chronic respiratory tract infection.
Blood in the phlegm can be due to:
1. severe bouts of cough which injures the respiratory tract mucosa
2. infective cause like Tuberculosis, etc

Though symptomatic relief can be obtained with anti histamine & anti tussive preparations, the underlying cause of the symptoms should be treated to prevent recurrence.

So, kindly consult your GP & get a proper physical examination done
Investigations like X ray chest, sputum microscopy & culture will be needed to formulate the treatment plan.

Till then, maintain adequate hydration & avoid cold food & drinks.

Thank you,
You can contact me for any follow up questions
Take care
