Cough, Headache, Sore Sinus, Chills, Body Ache. Taken Advil

Hi my 15 year old came down with a small cough about 3 weeks ago, it s since turned from a tickle to a full blown hacking type wet cough. She complains of headaches which she takes Advil for, now her sinuses are sore and she has chills with body aches, mainly behind her knees, back and stomach , she also has been unusually tired. Common cold? Or something else ?

Hello,

By history it seems to be like a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract which was superadded by bacterial infection.
It may be bacterial sinusitis or pharyngitis.
Rest is advised.
Analgesic and antipyretic for myalgia and fever.
A full course of antibiotic.
Take a lot of oral fluids.
Stream inhalation may help for symptomatic relief.
