Cough, Lump Under Armpit, Neck, Slightly Enlarge Heart. Swollen Glands Diagnosed. Given Asthma Pumps. Advise?
Hi, my daughter is 15, she has had a cough for almost 11 weeks gp keeps giving ashthma pumps then she found a lump under her armpit and her neck, gp says swollen glands she had a chest xray which showed she has a slightly enlarge heart and have been waiting forever for a scan and i am beside myself with worry, do you have any answers ?
Your daughter is 15 years of age. History of cough for 11 months and lymph node in the cervical and axillary region. X ray shows enlarged heart. There may not be any anatomical anomalies of the heart. If that was the case then it should been identified very early. As for as my experience goes it may be a Tuberculous pericardial effusion. ie collection of fluid around the heart due to TB infection. ATT is the treatment of choice.
