Cough, Tuberculosis, Breathing Problem, Vomiting, Fluid In Lungs, Weakness. Given Gemer And Forcox. Sufficient?
my father age74 has coughing and breathing problem since six month. After examination Dr. Found that he has fluid in lungs and sugar 319. Dr prescribed sugar tablet Gemer1 And forcox for tuberculosis but since last 15 days when treatment is started my father is vomiting regularly.. He still has breathing problem. He doesnt eat since 15 days. Only drinks 4 -5 cup soup or milk . He is getting weak. Plz advice me
He should test for liver functions( Bilirubin,Liver Enzymes like SGPT,SGOT & Alk.Phos) and if they are deranged than your physician would advise withholding the drugs and only drugs which are not toxic to liver may be given.
He is also diabetic so it should also be controlled other wise if he develops high sugar with ketosis hospitalization may be required.
Please consult your physician and if necessary get him hospitalized for few days.
Hope this helps. Take care. Good Luck Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.

Cough, Tuberculosis, Breathing Problem, Vomiting, Fluid In Lungs, Weakness. Given Gemer And Forcox. Sufficient?
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, Your father is having Diabetes Type II and Pleural effusion due to Tuberculosis. He is most likely having toxicity due to antitubercular treatment that is drug induced Hepatitis.
