Cough With Thick Green Mucus, Eye Glued, Stuffy Nose. Is This Contagious? Suggest Treatment

Hello,

My sons have passed their sickness to me, only I have no time today to get to a doctor. We just PCS'd to Guam a day ago and we have no transportation, etc. they are on antibiotics. I have a cough, with thick green mucus, I woke up with my eye glued shut with green mucus that dried overnight, and my nose is stuffy with green thick mucus also. My question is, will this pass or do I absolutely HAVE to get seen and put on meds? My husband is to work already and I have 3 little ones I have to take care of, I kind of feel like I don't have the time. But do not want to pass this sick ess back and forth.

Thank you in advance :)

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi and thanks for the query.
Looks like you have developed an acute infection of the upper respiratory tract along with conjunctivitis (infection of the eye).
You need to see a doctor for treatment and also to rule out any infection of the lungs.
You will require antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs, eye drops, decongestant nose drops.
Until you see a doctor please follow some general measures
1) Get some rest.
2) Drink plenty of fluids.
3) Steam inhalation.
4) Cold pack for the eyes.
5) Warm salt water gargling.
