Coughing Fit After Inhaling Dishwasher Repair Fumes. Concerned
At work today the dishwasher repair man mixed CLR and Ironout together in the dishwasher. The fumes were sucked near me by the overhead hood and I had food on the grill, was not able to leave immediately. Spent about 3 min in the fumes and had a horrible coughing fit. Is this anything I have to be concerned with? My lungs feel a bit sore, not sure if it is from chemicals or how hard I coughed. Thank you.
It could be because of both- inhaling chemical fumes and the force of coughing. I hope the symptoms are subsiding. You have to give time for self recovery. In the meanwhile you van take an antihistaminic like loratadine or allegra, do some nebulization with salsol and budecort and suck on a cough lozenge. Avoid very vigorous physical exercise for some time.
