Hello I just had a total joint hip replacement and I didn t have any pain medicine here for what my doctor wanted me to have so I took two advil one day and another day I took one. The reason I am concern because I am giving myself a injection for blood clots knowing I wasn t suppose to have advil.Could I get blood clots in my legs from the advil?
Adil itself will not cause blood clots. you are at risk to develop blood clots because of limited movements post surgery. this is why your doc gave those injections.
some times these injections and advil puts you at risk for bleeding in the stomach. take advil only if needed after eating food. if you have issues with bleeding in the past or acid reflux take acid suppressants like omeprazole or pantoprazole
