Could Atorvastatin Cause Shaky Feeling With Slightly Impaired Cognitive Thinking?

For a week or so I have been feeling shaky and have general weakness and my fine motor skills aren t good. My cognitive thinking is slightly impaired as well since that time. I am 67 years old and a female. My doctor prescribed Atorvastatin about 5 weeks. Could that be why?

Hello,

Although not very common, your symptoms could be attributed to atorvastatin. In order to find out it would be useful to check your creatinine phosphokinase which may be elevated when muscular toxicity occurs. You can also stop it for a while to see if your symptoms will get better and start it again later. If atorvastatin is the cause then the symptoms will reappear.

If your creatinine phosphokinase is elevated then depending on the value the drug might have to be stopped for ever.

I hope I've helped!
