I occasionally have a smallish red spot that shows up on the top of my left forearm (one just appeared this morning) that is subcutaneous and looks like blood. It neither itches nor is raised, does not hurt and disappears in 7-10 days. I do not have these anywhere else on my body. Could I have a leaky vein?
Hello, By the description you gave it seems to be some sort of petechia hemmorhage over your skin that is generally and usually caused after a little trauma that you must have encountered during your daily activities or else post some viral infections. Although if there is a chronic tendency and they persists on regular basis, you should be further dermatologically investigated to rule out any allergic reaction, any blood disease like thrombocyotpenia, ITP or leukemias. Also the best diagnosis are made clinically after examining the skin lesion or eruption. But mostly your chances problem could just be a simple 'leaky vein' as you rightly woorry that could be due to some trauma. Regards, Dr. Raavi
