Could Prozac, Seroquel Or Klonopin Be Causing Soreness In The Muscles ?
My friend is taking generic prozac 20, generic seroquel 100 mg. and klonopin 2mg. She has been aching with no fever or other systems. The only thing I can think of is that she has been in the bed so much the her muscles are sore from atrophy. She is probable only out of the bed, at the most for 5 hours a day. Could one of these medicines possible be causing soreness.
The medicines you mentioned are for psychiatric illnesses and among these seroquel and klonopin can lead to sedation , espically- klonopin 2 mg...this might be one of the reason that she lies In bed most of the time.
The soreness & muscular atroy should not be due to their use, it looks like it is due to her inactivity or due to some separate muscular problem, which needs to be checked.
So, please consult the doctor, to reduce the dosage so that patsnt is able to remains awake and move about and the issue of muscular atrophy. Some times one needs to do a biopsy of muscles to diagnose the problem.
Hope the reply is useful feel free to ask more questions Dr. Manisha Gopal MD psychiatry
