Could Volt Fast Be The Cause For Miscarriage?

Hello Doctor. One week after my ovulation,I started having signs of pregnancy and then I mistakingly took the drug volt fast for headache only to later read dat it is not advisable for a pregnant woman to take volt fast. I tot all was well, till I started seeing my normal monthly flow today. Is it possible dat the volt fast I took, terminated the pregnancy?

Dear Patient,

it is not quite clear to me if you even had an early pregnancy, since "signs of pregnancy" is a very unreliable matter. Only sure thing is a positive test, which, one week after ovulation is to early to take (earliest tests show results around day 12 after ovulation, safer for testing is mostly day 14). So please don't judge yourself too hard, even if you really were having an early pregnancy, and took the volt fast it is not likely the volt fast alone ended it. Early pregnancy is a very vulnerable thing and it either works or not, in that early stage nature sorts out 50% of the trials, and that is normal, and that only volt fast did it can't be said for sure. Next time you should avoid voltfast just to make sure, but please don't blame yourself too much. The only pain medication in pregnancy one can pretty much take is paracetamol by the way. When you try it again there will be a higher chance statisticly next time, since the early misscarriage you (maybe) already had! Good luck! Best regards
