Could A Bump On Labia Majora Indicate Herpes?

Hi, I have one bump on my labia majora that showed up 5 days ago. The bump looks like an ingrown hair, but I can t see a hair inside. Since I can t see a hair inside, I am freaking out that I could have herpes. The last time I had sex was 4 weeks ago. Do you think this is something that I should be very concerned about?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. If it is in hair line it can be folliculitis. But if in the labia where there is no hair then it can be most likely bartholinitis. If you send a picture of it then it will be more helpful in identifying. Herpes is usually not solitary and it will be presented as fluid filled blistering rashes. For bartholinitis or boil I would recommend hot fomentation and betadine ointment for local application. If there is no improvement then antibiotic therapy will be required. In case of collection of puss incision and drainage is advised also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
