Could A Psychiatrist Help To Treat Chronic Insomnia?

I can t stop thinking when I try to fall asleep. SInce my last child was born about 5 years ago, my stress level has been very high. As a result, I developed chronic insomnia. I ve been prescribed many sleeping pills and depression pills, but many of them do not work or they only work for short period of time. I am currently taking Klonopin (or Clonazepam). It helps me sleep for a couple hours, but it doesn t help me stay asleep. It was suggested that I consult a psychiatrist, but I m not sure. Will it help?

I had gone through you query.

Yes psychiatrist will defenatly help you to treat chronic insomnia.

many a times it is needed to address other underlying psychopathology like stress and depression.

Many other drugs will help you apart from clonazepam.

Psychotherapy and counseling will help to identify emotional issue and modifying it.

So please do consultation and get well soon.

Thank you.

Take care.
