Could A Small Black Dot On Right Hand Indicate A Wart?

Hello Doctor, There has been a small black dot on my right hand for two days. The first day I got the dot the night before, I dreamed that I had a splinter in my hand and was quite painful in my sleep and when I woke up there was the dot. It is pretty small and not very irritating at all and looks like it is under at least a layer of skin is it a wart of some type or something else. Please reply and thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear,
Thanks for writing.
First of a wart is a papular lesion which is raised above the skin level and though it may occur all of sudden but its itch rather than tender.
As described by u the lesion looks like a mole or a nevus.
If this increases in size or it becomes very painful than visit a dermatologist.
If its a wart than it will rise well above the skin surface.
Treatment for wart is cryotherapy or laser ablation.
Thanks
Hope I cleared ur doubts.
