Could A Small Lump In The Middle Of Calf Be A Matter Of Concern?
Hi. I have a fairly small lump in the middle of my right calf. I have had it for about 2 months and it doesn t seem to have grown any. I am 21, and athlete and workout my legs and calves a lot. I have not had any injury to them and the lump does not hurt. It is just hard, about pea sized, and doesn t move. It feels like it is apart of my calf. I went to my physician and she said it doesn t seem to be anything seriouse but I would just like a second opinion!
If your physician has done a USG to see the nature of the swelling, then nothing to be done. Usually, in athletes this kind of swelling occurs due to a small tear in the muscles fibres and local bleeding. This stops by itself and persists as a swelling. As it is small< 1 cm size it does not produce pain on movement. As it is 2months old it has become hard. A USG will confirm the diagnosis and yes no treatment is indicated at t his stage.
