Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My liver enzymes were elevated in the 400-500 range, overthe past three weeks it has been going down and in my recent labwork they indicated levels were back in the normal range at 36. However, although the enzymes are at a normal range, my sed rates came back abnormal. I have highcholesterol and have been off of lovastatin since they found elevated enzymes of the liver. Also, a polyp (begnin) was found on my gallbladder. Why would my sed rates be abnormal if my liver enzymes are back in the normal range? Could it be my body still recovering from the elevated enzymes or does it mean i have an infection/inflammation in another area? Could the abnormal sed rates be associated with the polyp? I also am extremely fatigue is this side effect associated with abnormal sed rates?
gall bladder polyps are of various types. if they are associated with gall stones and underlying inflammation, your sed rates can be high. So needs evaluation for your gall bladder polyp with endoscopic ultrasound.
