Could Accidental Swallowing Of Metal Piece By A Toddler Be A Matter Of Concern?

my baby 2 years old has swallow a half inch nut which is curved one.it was happened yesterday evening. I didn t observe any symptom s in my child. I didn t consult doctor still now. I didn t saw while she was swallowing but she is telling that she swallowed. plz suggest

Understanding your concern. As per your query accidental swallowing of metal piece by a toddler is definitely a matter of concern as it can give pinching sensation in throat and can cause irritation there. Piece of metal which toddler ingested is acting as foreign body there and causes accumulation of bacteria and debris and giving you this feel and this has some hard and sharp thing that had gone inside giving small abrasion in food pipe and giving this feel. Visit ENT specialist immediately. Go for fibro-optic scan and with the help of fibrooptic tip get that foreign object removed. This is a minor procedure. Do warm saline gargles.
