Could Amoxicillin/ Lortab (taken After Tonsils Removal) Cause Periods To Last Upto 3 Weeks?
Hi this is really weird but I started some antibiotics on December 20th to keep me from getting sick before I had my tonsils removed. Well I had a period the days of the 21st til now. And thing is the week of 21-28th I wasnt supposed to be on my period according to my birth control. Well the week of the 29-4th I had my period still but was on track according to my birth control. But it is now the week of January 5-11th and I'm not supposed to be on my period anymore. But I still am. I have been on for three weeks! But I had tonsils removed December 27th and I was on amoxicillin, lortab 7.5, and some yellow thrush/thrash swish and swallow for my throat. Could that be what is causing me to bleed cause I'm sixteen and usually my periods last six days at most not three weeks. Can you tell me what's wrong with me? Why I am still on my period?
hello. it is highly unlikely that amoxicillin is causing the extended periods, however lortab may cause and i recommend you stop it ,if you are not having pain, please meet your doctor for further examination and advice. thanks
