Could Anemia Cause Irregular Menstrual Cycle?

I am 30 years old and have had no children. My periods have been irregular and sometims missing for the last 3 years. I have been diagnosed with anemia(megaloblastic). I only had one vitamin b injection and am not sure if I need regular injections. The reason I am writing is to ask wether my current problem is related to the anemia or not. My problem is that I have had a prolonged (4 weeks) "dry" period where the blood is minimal and black to dark brown and it does not seem to want to stop. I have no pain. Could this be related to the anemia?
