Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
43 yr old male, 73 inches, 200 lbs. BP 120/76, HR 57. Have had regular EKGs, ECGs, and stress tests the past 5 years or so for physicals and life insurance applications, but today I received an EKG result that says "consider anteroseptal infarct". Doctor asked me if I was an avid runner (I am not) because my EKG indicated an enlarged heart. Should I be concerned about this, or might this be an anomoly?
I understand your concern Sir, but let me tell you that EKG machine is not a doctor and the comments comes out of it printed is not reliable, being a cardiology practitioner i can assure you that. What i would like to suggest you is that go for an ECHO-CARDIOGRAM to rule out any abnormality. If you never had any chest discomfort in the past like pain or heaviness in the chest along with sweating and breathing difficulty its highly unlike to have an heart issue.
Wish you Good Luck
