Could Bad Headache, Stomach Sickness And Little Blurry Vision After Being Kicked In Head By Ball Mean Concussion?
Today in P.E. I got kicked in the head really hard by a soccer ball. I felt really dizzy and I think I may have blacked out for a few seconds. I put some ice on it, but not for very long because I had track practice. When I got home from practice I went to sleep and I know I wasn t supposed to but I was so tired I couldn t stay awake. Now I have a really bad headache and the whole right side of my head hurts and I feel sick to my stomach and my vision is kind of off balance. Do I have a concussion? Do I need to see a doctor?
Your symptoms are concerning for what we call a mild traumatic head injury (mTBI). I suggest you get examined by a doctor and even go to an emergency room if you are still feeling nauseous and your vision is not right as you say. You should get a CT scan of the head among other things as well as an examination either by a neurologist or a referral to follow up with one as soon as possible. But I would advise that you get immediate attention. Certainly, stay away from physical activities at this time until this situation can be assessed and brought under control. Good luck.
