Could Bad Taste In Mouth Be Due To The Side Effect Of Taking Metformin?

I can t seem to get rid of this bad taste in my mouth. Mainly my tongue I have recently had my teeth cleaned and ever thing checks out OK. I do take many prescriptions, one that came up was Metformin can cause this problem. I have been taking it a long time.

You are using metformin which is medicine used to treat diabetes.
It does show some side effects like loss appetite,stomachache,stomach upset,nausea ,vomiting ,metallic taste in mouth,loss of weight.So the bad taste you are observing may be due to metformin. So my suggestion is as metformin is one of the most effective medicine for controlling diabetes you should not stop this.Talk to your doctor about these side effect so that he may think of better options.
