Could Black Color Under The Tongue Be Related To Clogged Salivary Glands?

Two months ago I had lower teeth removed and now have a denture.three weeks ago I had swelling and tenderness in one jaw...saw my doctor and was put on Keflex for clogged salivary glands. Today, while rinsing my mouth I noticed that the underside of my tongue is almost black. Is this from the salivary glands? I took the Keflex for 10 days and was finished with it a week ago. Thanks for anything you can tell me.

thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. the black color underneath the tongue could be because of the trauma (by sharp edges of the denture or food particles) leading to sublingual hematoma. or it can be lingual varicocities. that is enlarged or dialted sublingual veins. consult a oral physician to rule out these two conditions. stop using denture till you consult your oral physician. i hope my answer will help you. take care
