Could Bulging And Disc Degeneration Be Related To Ankylosing Spondylitis?
Hi i have tested positive to the gene for ankylosing spongiltis. I have had chrinic back pain on and off over a period of 10 years. Since oct its been a dull pain with dtiffness and morning stiffness in my spine and neck. Mri shiwed disc degeneration in l3-4 l4-5 and l5 s1 with small bukges.slight disc degeneration bulges at c3-4 c5-6 and c6-7. Also minor loss of normal cervical lordosis. Is this going to be down to ankylosingspongiltis?
Spinal arthritis and degeneration of disc will present almost similar symptoms of pain, radiation, mobility of joint etc. Depend on which part is effected. In your case pain could well radiate to leg also. Nerves are compressed when gap in IVD are reduced.
In ankylosing sp. which is a kind of spinal arthritis, stiffness of joints is more rather than radiation.
Yes it may lead to such conditions.
Pain killers and physiotherapy only is advised in allopathic. I may suggest you to think about Ayurveda medication too along with Yoga postures, deep breathing etc and some pure herbals like Shigru capsules, guggul capsules etc. Surgery on spine is potentially dangerous.
If you can meet some Ayurveda trained doctors, it would be in your own interest in the long run
Hope it helps you.
