Could Burning And Tingling Sensation In Genitals Be Due To Herpes?

.. I was told that the guy i was seeing had herpes, I had a burning and tingling sensation sometimes ago but i use the canseten cream and it went away in two days and I went and got tested, the result were negative, do you think i could possible have the virus ?

Thank you for query.if the symptoms have responded to the antifungal treatment given then the symptoms were due to Fungal infection.Herpes is unlikely.If more than 2 weeks have elapsed after the exposure with the person then there are almost nil chance of you getting herpes.Use loose cotton clothes.Keep area dry.Apply antifungals like clotirimazole.clean the area twice daily with warm water.oral antifungals like flucanazole 150 mg weekly once can be taken.Treat your partner also to prevent recurrence..You can get back to me for any clarifications with the photos.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist.
