Could Burning Sensation In The Stomach Have Been Caused By Digene Tablets?

Hi A friend of mine had the habit of taking digene all the time and now has this burning/warm sensation in his stomach all the time, which does not go away despite having eaten. Please help. Do you think it s because of all the uneccessary digene tablets he s been taking?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Digene is an antacid. It is used to treat hyperacidity of the stomach (heartburn).

If the burning sensation in his stomach is present all the time, then, it is not related to Digene, but possible not well controlled gastritis or ulcer.

He should check it out with gastroenterogist and run upper endoscopy to determine the right diagnosis and treatment schedule.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
